We give you this guide because the law asks us to (section 126 of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009). It is not a loan contract.
1. The short version
- We offer one loan: $2,050 to $4,600 in cash, plus a $400 fee, over 3 or 6 months.
- Before we lend, we check your situation. If the loan does not suit you, we will not lend.
- You can ask for a free copy of our assessment.
- If you are struggling to pay, tell us. We will help, and we answer in writing within 21 days.
- If you are unhappy, you can complain to us for free. If we cannot fix it, you can go to AFCA, which is also free.
2. Who we are
Evercrest Finance is a credit provider. That means when applications open, we will lend the money ourselves, directly to people in Australia. This guide explains our loan, how we decide, how to ask for our assessment, and how to get help or complain. Read it with the documents we give you before you sign: the pre-contractual statement, the information statement and the credit contract.
3. Our loan
| Loan | Amount and length | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Medium amount credit contract | $2,050 to $4,600 in cash, over 3 or 6 months. The $400 establishment fee is added to the loan, so the loan amount is $2,450 to $5,000 | A $400 establishment fee and fixed interest of 46.50% p.a. (comparison rate 64.63% p.a.*). The total cost always stays within the legal limit |
*Comparison rate based on an unsecured loan of $2,500 over 2 years with fortnightly repayments and a $400 establishment fee. Evercrest does not currently offer a 2-year term; current loan terms are 3 or 6 months. WARNING: This comparison rate is true only for the examples given and may not include all fees and charges. Different terms, fees or other loan amounts might result in a different comparison rate.
This describes our loan. It is not a quote. Your offer and contract will show your exact amount, repayments and total cost.
4. How we decide
Before we lend, the law says we must:
- ask about what you need the loan for and about your money situation;
- check what you tell us; and
- work out whether the loan would be unsuitable for you.
A loan is unsuitable if it does not do what you need, or if you probably could not make the repayments, or could only make them with substantial hardship. We will not lend if the loan is unsuitable.
To check, we use what you tell us, your identity documents, your bank transaction data and, where the law allows and we have told you first, information from credit reporting bodies. Meeting our basic criteria does not mean you will be approved.
5. Ask for a copy of our assessment
You can ask for a free written copy of our assessment. It explains why we decided the loan was not unsuitable for you.
- If you ask before you sign, we give it to you before you sign.
- If you ask within 2 years after the loan starts, we give it to you within 7 business days.
- If you ask between 2 and 7 years after the loan starts, we give it to you within 21 business days.
We do not have to give an assessment if the loan never went ahead. To ask, contact us.
6. Fees and costs
Your pre-contractual statement and contract show the exact cost of your loan. The calculator assumes every repayment is made on time.
- Establishment fee: $400, added to the loan. You do not pay it upfront.
- Interest: fixed at 46.50% p.a., charged each day on what you still owe.
- Monthly, account or early repayment fees: none.
- Missed or failed repayment fee: $35 for each scheduled repayment that is missed or dishonoured (fails).
- Collection costs: if we send an overdue loan to an external collection agency, its reasonable costs may be added to what you owe, but only as far as the contract and the law allow.
We only charge default, enforcement and government charges that the contract and the law allow. Our rates and fees page lists every cost.
A calculator result is not an approval or a quote. Think about whether the total cost and the repayments suit you.
