Before you start
Choose an amount and read the warning, the likely cost and the cheaper options. Moving the slider or starting the form does not send an application, touch your credit file or promise you that amount.
Check cheaper options
A payment plan, a Centrelink advance, a No Interest Loan, your savings or free financial counselling may cost less.
Estimate the repayment
Use the loan cost calculator, then compare the repayment with your income, essential costs and other repayments.
Have these ready
An identity document, an Australian mobile and email, your home address, and online banking for the account your pay goes into.
The application
- 1
Verify your mobile and email
Choose an amount, then confirm your mobile with a code we text you. If you have borrowed with us before, you carry on in your account. If not, you confirm your email next.
- 2
Your loan and your identity
Confirm the amount, what it is for, the length and how often you want to repay. Then add your name, date of birth, address and identity document. The repayment estimate updates as you go.
- 3
Connect your bank
Log in to the account your pay goes into through a safe, read-only connection, or upload statements. We never see your banking password.
- 4
Confirm your money
Your income, living costs and repayments are filled in from your bank data. Fix anything that is not current, and tell us about any change you expect.
- 5
Check and send
Check your details and the estimated cost. Then confirm the declarations and how we send you documents. Nothing is checked until you send it.
After you send it
We check it
The system checks your application is complete, checks your identity, looks for anything that does not match, and flags anything a person needs to look at.
A person decides
A person looks at your checked income, living costs, other debts, expected changes and the repayments together, and decides.
The answer
We may decline, ask you for more information, or offer you a loan. We only offer a smaller amount if you said you would consider one.
Your offer
If approved, you see the final amount, costs, repayment schedule and contract before you choose whether to accept.
You can read the documents and decide not to go ahead. Using the slider, the calculator or sending an application does not sign you up to a loan.
How the bank check works
Instead of asking you to upload payslips and statements, we read your recent banking through a safe, read-only connection. This is what that means.
Read-only
The connection can only read transactions. It cannot move money, make payments or change anything in your account.
We never see your password
You log in through the secure connection, not through Evercrest. We never see or keep your banking password.
How we use your bank data
To check your application, prevent fraud, run any loan and keep the records the law requires, as our Privacy Policy explains. We never sell it.
After you accept
- 1
Sign your contract online
You read and sign your contract in your secure account. You can download a copy at any time.
- 2
Set up repayments
Repayments come out of your bank account by direct debit on the dates in your schedule, timed to your pay day where possible.
- 3
We pay the money into your account
Once your contract is signed and the final checks are done, we pay the cash into your bank account. Timing depends on the banks and the checks, so we never promise a time.
- 4
Your first repayment
You choose your first repayment date before you sign: any day from 7 days after your loan is paid. Choosing your next pay day can help.
- 5
Manage your loan online
See your balance and schedule, make an extra payment or pay it all off early with no fee. If things change, ask for help early.
You can decline an offer, or tell us in writing before the loan is paid that you no longer want it. Once it is paid, you can pay it off early at any time with no fee.
Timing
We do not promise how fast you will get a decision or the money. A complete application can be quick, but checks, missing information, a closer look, bank processing or security checks can take time.
How we look after your information
- We only use your information for the reasons in our Privacy Policy: checking who you are, deciding, preventing fraud, running your loan and meeting the law.
- We tell you why before we ask for information.
- We keep a record of each consent you give and each document you see.
- Only staff who need your information can see it, and we record what they do.
- You can ask to see or fix your information, complain about privacy, and be told about a data breach.
